| I have received many requests for instructions on how to create an animated icon for your Youtube profile picture. Here is a quick tutorial. There are many way to create the gif. I used Adobe Premiere to capture the video and export to a series of images. Then I used Adobe Image Ready to create the gif. This tutorial uses GIMP because it is free. |

Here's a quick video on how to create a simple gif using GIMP.
| Once you created your gif go to the "Account Settings" menu in your profile. Go to the "Profile Setup" menu. You should see the screen below. Upload your new image. You do not have to create the gif yourself. If you already have an image you want to use just upload it. |
